My friendship with Amanda started almost 20 years ago. We met in the 7th grade and have been best friends ever since. I am very blessed that our friendship has stayed so strong over the years between a move to Boston, Florida, Dallas, and Atlanta. No matter the distance in our lives, we will always remain close.
She was scheduled to be induced on Friday the 22nd and I was coming to town for Thanksgiving so it worked out perfect. I left Atlanta on Thursday around noon and drove halfway to Memphis. She was going in at 7am and her first child, Roman, came within 3 hours of arriving to the hospital so I got up at 3:30a and hit the road. I was at the hospital by 9:00a, but Bauer wanted to stay warm a little while longer. ( I think he knew it was 30 degrees outside so I don't blame him!)
I had brought my two dogs with me to Arkansas so they were chilling in my car. I went to check on them around 3:09 and I got a call from Amanda saying "You better get in here!" I got in the room and 11 pushes later Bauer Banks was here. 8 pounds and 21 inches of perfection. It was so amazing to see and hear mommy and daddy when they saw their boy for the first time. I remember Brandon staring at him while they were cleaning him up and saying "Thank you Lord for this healthy boy". I was able to witness some sweet moments.
Bauer, you were well worth the wait. Welcome to world, Lala loves you to pieces!
Congrats Amanda and Brandon! Love you guys!
