Ever since we moved up to the mountains in north Georgia, I have been finding little gems. I thought I would share this one with you.
This place is incredible! Not only do they sell grass-fed beef, but they sell farm fresh eggs, free range pork, raw milk, roll butter, cheese from a local creamery, and just last weekend I noticed they added fresh goat cheese spreads.
My husband and I no longer buy our beef, pork, or eggs from anywhere else. Yes, it's a little more expensive, but I say quality over quantity on this. I bought some their steaks and ground my own ground beef for burger. They were seriously the best burger I have ever had. Their steaks are to die for. We have only seasoned them with a little salt and pepper, nothing more and they turn out incredible every time.
My other favorite thing about the farm store is the animals. They have an area where there is a cow, a horse, pigs, goats, calfs, and bunnies running around everywhere. It's so fun to go look and see all the new babies. I took my 4 year old niece there a couple of weeks ago and they let her get on the horse and the farmer chased a baby goat around for about 10 minutes until he caught him and let my niece hold him. They are the nicest people.
The dairy cows get fed twice a day (they told me how many pounds of grass, but I can't remember). I love watching them come in from a milking to eat.
I highly recommend this place. If you live in Atlanta, on a Saturday take your cooler up there and make a day trip out of it by stopping off at the Cartecay Winery down the street or R and A Orchards on 52. You will not be sorry!
